Rotary Club, Accra-North Presents Automatic Defibrillator to Korlebu Polyclinic

Rotary Club, Accra-North is a member of Rotary International, a humanitarian organization with a mission to advance  world understanding. Goodwill and Peace through the improvement of health, educational support and alleviation of poverty.

According to the President of the Rotary Club, Accra-North, the AED is a very important medical portable device that delivers electronic shock that can stop an irregular heart beat and allow normal rhythm to resume following sudden cardiac arrest. Each of the recently purchased ambulances by the government has AED installed in it. This attests to the importance of AED as a life saving service.


He said the donation of this AED with the fully funded training of eight personnel of Korle Bu Polyclinic will augment the services of this health institution to the public. Korlebu Policlinic is a key medical facility in the country as patients from far and near visit to seek health care.


He continued by saying that, for this reason, non-governmental and other organizations should supplement Government's support for the Polyclinic.
Rotary Club of Accra-North has supported health and educational institutions in the past and they hope to continue so.

Conclusion, he thanks Africa Partners Medical who have partnered with them over the past three years on their AED project also a big thanks to the media for their support to raise the awareness of the public about the need to have AED devices at vantage places in all communities to save lives of victims needing them.
