Nana Sad Over Odawna Market Fire Outbreak, Says It’s Big Tragedy.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed profound sadness over the fire outbreak at the Odawna Market in Accra.


According to the President, the fire outbreak which destroyed hundreds of stalls was a big tragedy.




He made the remarks when stormed the market on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 following the outbreak.


“This is really sad. It is a big tragedy,” the Ghanaian leader said.


He accessed the damages and huge lost caused to shop owners.




According to the President, “we would see what Government could do to begin the process of rehabilitating the process.”




Hundreds of stalls burnt into ashes as the fire rips through the market on Wednesday dawn, November 18, 2020.


 



The Odawna Market is located around the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.


Eyewitnesses accounts available to African Entertainment indicate that the fire raged on for several hours.



The cause of the outbreak remains unknown.


It would be recalled that January 2019, at least 80 stalls at the Odawna Market got burnt.
