Story by Carlos Afanou

A Three Unit Classroom block facility built by Qatar Charity Ghana has been commissioned today October 1, 2020 at Adjiringanor ADMA Basic School.

The event has brought together many dignitaries including the Municipal Chief Executive Officer of the Adentan Municipal Assembly, the Presiding Member, Assembly Member, Development Partners from Qatar Charity, Municipal Coordinating Director, Heads of departments and friends from the media.

The Municipal Chief Executive Officer , Hon. Daniel Alexander Nii-Noi Adumuah was delighted to commissioned another school infrastructure adding on to the numerous development projects being undertaken in the municipality.

He stated that, education is both necessity and investment we must all embrace with the seriousness it deserves.

He said, it is in that vein that, the assembly is doing all in its capacity to ensure that children of school going age in the municipality have access to safe and quality education.

"The assembly has therefore taken a firm stand to ensure that  priority is placed on education especially in the provision of infrastructure in basic schools."

"In the past four years, the Adentan Municipal Assembly has seen a significant rise in the number of school buildings that have been put up". He noted.

The Municipal Chief Executive Officer however stated that, the objective is to ensure that there is a Public School in every community.

"Our biggest challenge however has been the availability of land, the municipality can boast about 200 Private Basic schools and 15 Public Basic Schools. This shows how much the private sector is contributing to improve literacy levels in the Municipality." He said.

He also said that in all aspects of development, it is important to note that government cannot do it all, it is a collective responsibility of all stakeholders including charitably organisations like Qatar Charity.

He therefore noted that, the assembly is very grateful to have partners such as the Qatar Charity to support in the developmental agenda through its Corporate Social Responsibility activities.

"This gesture really deserves commendation and we hope others would take a cue from"

Hon. Daniel Alexander Nii-Noi Adumuah once again, on behalf of the assembly and management express deepest appreciation to Qatar Charity and asked for the blessings of the Almighty God on them.

He finally admonishes the school children, parents and the school authorities, the ultimate beneficiaries of this project to handle it well and maintain it for posterity.
