Accra, Thursday 12th November 2020, the Minister for Defence commissioned the newly constructed Ultra-Modern kitchen facility for 37 Military Hospital.

According to the Minister for Defence   Honorable  Dominic Nitiwul,  this facility will undoubtedly add to the existing ones to provide quality and nutritious meals for patients as they have and continue to do. He has watched with great administration the steady growth of the 37 Military Hospital which has gradually become the preferred choice and first point of call for all and sundry. It therefore gladdens his heart, anytime he was invited to attend such events and programmes.

He said the expanded role that 37 Military Hospital has played over the years and continue to play in the health sector in particular and national development as a whole cannot go unnoticed. He has personally monitored the activities and the effective healthcare delivery the Hospital continues offer  personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces and the general public. The Hospital remains a reliable and dedicated point of call for all Ghanaians even during emergencies and disasters. It is therefore heartwarming to see frequent provision of infrastructures and facilities to help improve health delivery.

He continued by saying that as we may be aware, an edifice of this status comes at a very night cost and therefore requires the highest level of efficiency, effectiveness and supervision to get the optimum benefits and achieve the purpose for which it was constructed . He was glad to note that, training at all levels have been organized for the end users and the technical team to ensure a smooth and successful operation and management.

As they strive to bring the Hospital to the standard required by all of us through various interventions aimed at placing this health facility in good position to render effective and reliable healthcare, let us endeavour to also uphold the maintenance culture of the Military that they are noted for so as to be successful in their quest,  he said.

On behalf of the Ghanaians, the Minister also thank His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces. It has always been his focus to ensure that, Ghana Armed Forces and the other security services in the Country are well equipped to carry out their mandate of protecting the Country and its people.

He also commend the Military High Command and the Governing Board of the Hospital for seeing to the successful completion of this all-important project. He also recognize the effort of the hospital staff, both Military and Civil for leading the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and other associated health issues. 

He concluded that we are fighting a good fight to which posterity will always remember us. He also extended his appreciation to the contractors and all those who worked in diverse ways to ensure the successful completion for the project .
