The NCCE , with support from the European Union, has organized nationwide workshops as a strategy to engage the Youth Activists in 60 selected districts to promote non-violence in the upcoming 2020 General Election .

According to Mr. Ebenezer Tetteh Wayo, NCCE, Accra Metro Director, studies have shown that Political Party Youth Activists are often the perpetrators of electoral violence: most of them, acting out of ignorance of the various regulations governing the conduct of Elections. 

He also said the aim of this workshops is to equip participants with the basic knowledge and skills on non-violence to enable them to participate both effectively and ethically in the electoral process.

He also urged the youth not to near alcohol, drug before voting to avoid any misbehaving at the election ground because anyone who will be catch misbehaving during the electoral process  will be charge to pay a penalty of 500 units and one penalty unit is 500gh cedis and when you fail to pay, you will automatically go to jail for two to four years.

In conclusion, he said this the 8th election in Ghana so he urged  all Ghanaians to respect the law and maintain the peace and the respect of our mother land Ghana.
