Ablekuma North Assembly Member Organizes Clean Up Exercise


The Assembly Member for Ablekuma North Electoral Area - Hon. Joseph Asiedu in the early hours on Thursday, April 8, 2021 embarked on a clean up exercise as part of efforts by the Assembly in curtailing filth within Nyamekye and it's surrounding communities.

The exercise included the clearing of weeds, desilting of choked drains, sweeping, gathering and clearing of refuse.

Addressing the media, Hon. Joseph Asiedu urged Ghanaians to prioritize the National Sanitation Day as it is in line with the realization of SDGs goal 6 which is "Clean Water and Sanitation" by the end of 2030.

He explained that, collective efforts from individuals, corporate entities, private and public institutions through the organization of frequent clean exercises in flood prone communities will aid in reducing the occurrences  of disasters as the rainy season approaches.
