FIX DUMSOR, STOP DIVERTING ATTENTION WITH MINOR NDC ISSUES, USING MEDIA COLLABORATORS- MAHAMA TO NPP

By Jerry Akornor

Former President John Mahama has attributed Akufo-Addo-Led government’s desire to totally focus on a rather minor NDC matters in recent times is a deliberate propaganda attempt to shift attention of Ghanaians from burning issues facing the masses including dumsor.

In recent times, whilst the NDC was holding retreat to discuss fallouts from 2020 polls at HO in the Volta Region, the party’s cadres purported to be allies of late President Jerry John Rawlings were also holding separate meetings. This meeting of cadres attended by Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice Benjamin Kunbuour, Dan Agbodakpui, Goosie Tano and many others was described by the NPP as obvious cracks and internal wrangling deeply rooted in the opposition party.

But in a sharp rebuttal, Mahama insists there is no such strong disagreement breeding disunity in the party.

According to the H.E Mahama, worrying issues such dumsor, imposition of taxes, failed galamsey fight, Free SHS challenges, Covid-19 matters and economic hardships are clearly pointing to the abysmal performance of NPP government forcing them to employ all means to divert attention.

Speaking at NDC Professional Forum in Accra on Thursday 29 April 2021, H.E John Mamaha said “NPP is struggling to divert attention with minor NDC issues because power outages, taxes, Free SHS problems and economic hardships are obvious  case of complete failure of the Akufo-Addo-led government”

Mahama noted that “the NPP government actually wish the NDC is broken beyond repairs but it will not happen. Cadress are members of the party. Let criticize in a manner that does not offend anybody”

He noted that “Nobody has more issues than NP. But often when something happens they’ll invite you so when you play into their hands, they’ll take advantage of you to put it on front banner, Mahama advised party members.
