*Morning Message of Motivation*

*Understanding the times: 22*

Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi

The most significant covenant that God made in the Old Testament was the Abrahamic covenant.

Genesis 15:18-19 NKJV

“On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying:

“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates— the Kenites, the Kenezzites, the Kadmonites,”

The promises of God in this covenant were first,  to give Abraham who was childless at that time, uncountable descendants and secondly to give Abraham and his descendants, the land of Canaan.

*The covenant is renewed.*

Genesis 17:1-2 NKJV

“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”

*The duty of Abraham and his descendants was to circumcise every male.*

Genesis 17:10 NKJV

“This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised;”

The Abrahamic covenant was the basis of God’s interventions in Israel’s destiny.

*God intervened to deliver Israel from slavery based on His covenant with Abraham.*

Exodus 2:24 NKJV

“So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.”

About 700 years after He made the covenant with Abraham, God continued to remember it and act upon it.

Pharaoh’s resistance was bound to fail because God cannot lie and cannot break His covenant.

Psalms 89:34 NKJV

“My covenant I will not break,

Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.”

May you receive all the benefits and blessings of the New Covenant. May God multiply you in all things, in Jesus’s name.
