A Member of New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Legal Team Gary Nimako Marfo is insisting Special Prosecutor nominee Lawyer Kissi Agyabeng has already denied his involvement in the controversial Agyapa deal despite attempts by persons to link him to the transaction.

The University of Ghana School of Law Lecturer Agyabeng's nomination has received mixed reactions from many including Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu, Executive Director of Media Foundation for West Africa Sulemana Braimah and Martin Amidu who argued that his closed ties with persons at the center of the Agyapa Deal will affect his work.

The Former Special Prosecutor, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Martin Amidu questioned the  independence and impartiality of the nominee accussing  Africa Legal and Associates Boss Gabby Asare Octchere-Darko and Attorney General Godfreed Yeboah Dame of imposing Agyabeng on President Akufo-Addo.

But, speaking to an Accra-based station Class FM on Saturday 1 May 2021, Member of NPP legal team and great confidant of the Lawyer Kissi Agyabeng, Garry Nimako revealed the nominee has no hand in the Agyapa Deal.

"When the matter broke out I personally called him and he said I've absolutely no hand in Agyapa Deal, nobody consulted me".
