National Security secretly cloned phone of #FixTheCountry protestor to spy & divert calls- Convenor alleges, threatens court action

By Jerry Akornor

Convenor of #FixTheCountry Lawyer Oliver Barker Vormawor has alleged that National Security has cloned a phone of one of their protestors to spy and divert calls at their blind side during the Thursday meeting with ministers of State to resolve their grievances.

National Security Minister Kan Dapaah, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Godfred Yeboah-Dame, Information Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister this week had an emergency meeting with #FixTheCountry  leaders after they threatened to demonstrate over burning issues confronting the ordinary Ghanaians.

According to Barker-Vormawor, they were compelled to hand over their phones to National Security operatives before entering the meeting only for them to discover afterwards that one of their phones has been cloned to divert calls without their knowledge.

Speaking on an Accra-based Joynews on Saturday 7 May 2021 Barker-Vormawor said "We'll take the matter of cloning our phone to court".

But, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Godfred Yeboah-Dame says claim that the phone was cloned has no evidence and must be disregarded.

In a sharp rebuttal, Godfred Dame said " the manner in which the leadership of #FixTheCountry demonstrators conducted themselves by leaking conversations between the National Security Minister and himself on the matter is  a clear case of bad faith".
