Ghana's leading Oil Marketing Company Pacific Ghana Limited has donated some items to Madina Market Women ahead of crucial Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration.

Muslims world-wide are expected to mark Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration either Wednesday or Thursday after thirty/twenty-nine days of fasting in the month of Ramadan prescribed by the Quran.

Eid-Ul-Fitr requires a total adherence to Zakat, a pillar in Islam and alms giving to the poor and needy.

According to Head of Finance at Pacific Ghana Limited Ahmed Mohammed, it is within the company's corporate social responsibility to jump into the support of the less privileged, poor and vulnerable in society.

Speaking to Ghana News Desk after presenting items to Madina Market Women in Accra on 11 May 2021 at Madina in Accra, Head of Finance at Pacific Ghana Limited Ahmed Mohammed said "We operate within this enclave and deemed it necessary to support the under privileged in society with fifty bags of rice and oil so they can also celebrate the Eid-Ul-Fitr with their families".

"With this support, they'll be able to enjoy good meal".

Meanwhile, Ahmed Mohammed has also appealed to NGOs and civil society organisations to reach out to the poor, under privileged and vulnerable in society by donating items to them as Muslims across the globe observe Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.

He told Ghana News Desk that "People are suffering, some cannot even feed themselves a this is where those who are privileged, NGOs should come in and support them so they can earn a living".

A total of two hundred and fifty (250 ) bags of rice and two hundred and fifty (250) bottles of oil were presented to the  market women at Madina in Accra.
