According to him, the qualification of Lawyer Kissi Agyebeng is not in doubt but same cannot be said about him when it comes to anti-graft roles and track records pertaining anti-corruption in Ghana.

Speaking on an Accra-based Joynews monitored by ghananewsdesk.com on 1 may 2021, Braima said “Kissi Agyebeng defended me in court when I was sued for defamation, Anas in court also defended Smarttys involved in bus branding saga. He has the qualification but track records in the area of anti-corruption …l’m not sure”.

In a sharp rebuttal, Former Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice Joseph Dindiok Kpemka says comparing records of Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu with that of Kissi Agyebeng is needless. According to him, a rather intelligent and astute Lawyer Kissi Agyabeng should be given the nod to prove himself because there is no record of wrongdoing throughout his duty as a professional lawyer.

Speaking on Joynews monitored by ghananewsdesk.com on 1 may 2021, former Tempane Lawmaker Kpemka said “the difference between Agyabeng and Amidu is not an issue. He defended Anas Aremeyaw Anas, he should be given the job to shame people who think he couldn’t be a Special Prosecutor”.

Meanwhile, a Researcher at University of Cambridge Faculty of Law Oliver Barker-Vormawor is of the view that Kissi Agyebeng must subject himself to a thorough scrutiny when it comes to his role as special prosecutor.

“I trust that he will deal with issues dispassionately including cases of Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko owner of Africa Legal  & Associates, a law firm that rendered consultancy to controversial  Agyapa Deal.

Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu this week questioned nomination of  Lawyer Kissi Agyebeng on grounds that he (Kissi Agyebeng) has strong ties with Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and the Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame who are in a hurry to push him for the top job at the presidency.
